Here is a picture of the side panels ready for the dye to be applied. I accidentally deleted the picture of the panels with the dye on them. Sorry.
It was a nice sunny day with no rain in the forecast which is excellent. Once this project is completed then I pray that the heavens will open up and the reservoirs receive their much needed water.
Our daughter is leaving for her next stint with WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms). Her last tour was in France. Her next session will on The Big Island -Hawaii. She is studying sustainable agriculture with an emphasis in textiles. The farm she will be working on specializes in coffee, bees, fruit and sheep. Today was busy as we took care of the things that need to be done for her stay which will be anywhere from 2 months to a full year.
Tomorrow (day 10) I will finish dyeing the side panels. Wednesday I hope to wax banner #2. I will paint on the first layer of dyes and let them cure. Thursday I will apply the second layer of dye. Friday- last layer of dye. This weekend I need to rest and regroup. Next Monday, I'll begin sewing the backs to the fronts. Tuesday should be my day to hang the piece to get photographs before it is shipped. If all goes well, I should be able to ship this piece on Wednesday. That is the Fantasy Plan. You will see the Reality Plan as we move along the road.

Sheesh Marjie,
what a mammoth task you have undertaken! I'd be exhausted just moving that fabric around; not to mention waxing it AND sewing it up.
You never cease to amaze me, OEOTDU!
Did you do any walking in Mt Shasta, apart from fleeing from the Mices? Did the dogs go? Lola is a great mouser; trouble is she brings them back alive and spits them out at your feet.
Marcail (did i spell it correctly?)is doing some exciting things; another wonder woman following in her mother's footsteps.
Lots of love,
Anna K.
Thanks for the encouragement, Anna K.
Didn't get in any hikes. It was raining or snowing and the battle of the mice and plumbing was all we could handle. Needed some walk time but that will have to wait.
Of course, the dogs went. Roxy (new dog) was soooo excited about the hunt. That was our evening entertainment. Marcail pointed out where the mouse was and then Roxy waited and waited and would finally get to chase and stun. Then we did the rest.
Marcail IS another wonder woman but with common sense so that she doesn't self distruct. WAaaaay smarter than I am.
P.S. Princess and Gibson were there too. Gibson is getting old and deaf and stiff in cold weather but the morning it snowed, he did his happy dog dance and ran and jumped around in the snow like a young pup. He loves the snow so much! It was a heartwarmer for sure. Princess was her usual self and was the meatloaf dog. She sits in a lump all day long.
What Marcail is doing sounds very interesting and fun. I assume she'll learn about growing bamboo at some point? I think there's money to be made there, with bamboo farms, though I have no idea how much acreage one would need. The beekeeping will be fun; I took an apiculture class in college and loved it.
Good luck with your panels.
